Monday was an interesting day. It was FRESHIE DAY. And I got "freshied" because I only came in January! Thanks Nicole and Alyx for the lovely outfit!
Miss Tilford is enjoying that fact that for the first time in 3 years she hasn't been freshied.

First Week of School
Welcome Back Boys and Girls!
It has been an exciting week back at school. We had a lot of things going on this week. We had magazine kick off and freshie auction to name a couple. I have to admit I am a bit nervous for Freshie Day to see what my Grade 11's have in store for me.
In terms of homework this week there is not much.
Social 7 - No homework
Social 8 - You will have another class to work on you collage, but keep your eye out over the weekend for private vs. public pictures/words.
Social 9 - Your Current Events article is due Friday Sept 14
Health 7 - No homework
Health 8 - You will have half a class to work on your wellness inventory. Also make sure that your word search is done for next class!
Health 9 - You need to make sure that your word search is done for next class as there will be a homework check.
Christian Ethics 20 - We will continue to work on our Prayer Booklets. Make sure you have your bible and your internet permission signed so that you can use the internet to develop the booklet.
Creative Writing 20 - No homework. Jot down ideas in your idea book as you think of them.

And a reminder for the Senior Volleyball team that we will be practicing Monday from 3:30-5:30 and Tuesday from 4:30-6:30.
Also there will be a Soccer meeting on Monday at the beginning of lunch in my classroom.

I apologizing that this is taking a while to get to you. It has been very difficult to find the internet down here. Ms.Campbell and I tried to find the internet in our hotel. And they told us it would cost us 12.99! For the day...
So here is the list of what you are required to. Most of you know this already. But here is the reminder.
Christian Ethics 7 - read section 6.1 and 6.2.
Social Studies 7 - working on your country project. It is okay if you are not there yet. But you need to be thinking about moving forward.
The second section is on Culture.
Describe the following for your country:
- population
- language
- clothing (description and drawing or picture)
- recreational activities
- customs, eating, greetings
- style of homes (description and drawing or picture)
- major religions practiced
Put the following information in the second section.

This Week
This week has been a busy week of Day Switches. We've made it out the other side, with tomorrow going back to normal as a Day 4.
This week in our classes we have done the following
English 20 - we started developing our original illustrated storybooks. We had work classes this week and now have read to selections "Charles" and "Credo". With these comes the assignment to write a persuasive paragraph on a maxim of their choice. These will be presented orally on Wednesday, March 21. Then we will be looking at "The Cry of the Children" and "Childhood Through the Ages" These will both have assignments.
Social 7 - Completed the long awaited Geography quiz. Good Job Girls! Discussed democracy in Canada. We looked at how the government is set up. We have also discussed the principles of democracy looking at equality and justice. We also got new text books!!
Social 8 - We had current events, where the maps were handed out. Both maps are for homework. Also we worked on and handed in the Religion worksheets. Religion quiz is on Friday March 16! Also students have been assigned Culture Projects where they will create their own culture using the patterns that we have discussed and looked at in detail in class.
Social 9 - Current Events maps were handed out. We also reviewed the decline of feudalism in detail. Both individual and as a class.
Christian Ethics 7 - Finished up our unit on Love. Started to discuss what Lent is.
